I know the feeling I spilt coffee on my MBP the day I got it. I Had a replacement plan with Best Buy but they still had to send it out to see if it could be repaired. I ended up getting a new MBP. Maybe look into a accidental damage policy if your thinking about getting a new MB. It helped me out.

Bravo, you at least managed to spill a real beverage on it. Most of the people that come here (A LOT) spill juice.

Might I suggest:

http://www.aa.org ? sorry just had to :D

Seriously though know this is an old post but I suggest airing everything out, unplug everything, unscrew back, dry out for a few days in a dust free area. I had this happen with an iPhone and an old Sony Vaio laptop even after they worked though they were never the same.

If you did get your laptop fixed it will suffer alcohol withdrawal, DTs, shakes, all that nonsense.

I spilled a little beer on my mac book pro when it was completely shutdown and in closed position. I immediately wiped off any beer on top of the macbook. But in the morning when I woke up and opened the mac book I saw liquid(beer) at the bottom 1/4th of screen and top 2 rows of keyboard and on the powerbutton area. I immediately wiped off and tried to turn it on and it didn't. I made couple of attempts in turning it on and then left it untouched. After 5 mins or so, it turned on itself without displaying anything and then shutoff. Then I read couple of forms which said leave it untouched for couple of days. I left it for a day and tried turning it on but didnt work. So now I removed battery also. I'l wait for another 2 days before turning it on.

Any suggestions if I need to do anything else?
Please help.
It's unfortunate to hear such bad news with your mac. Fortunately it can be repaired without the high cost of replacing the entire logic board. Let me know if the computer restarted or not?

The post you quoted is over 2 1/2 years old, I suspect the OP isn't still trying to fix it.
