Ever tried putting your MacBook pro in rice? The rice absorbs the water and therefore dries your MacBook, and hey presto! Your MacBook is rid of water! (in your case I would suggest putting the MacBook pro upside down and open in the rice)

This can be done, but like I said earlier, it is best to pull it apart and clean it properly. Just removing the water will leave deposits that can corrode your system board and eventually destroy the system. Rice does work, but it is not the best solution for a high dollar item.

TRY THE FOLLOWING: (I MANAGED TO SAVE MY MACBOOK WITH THIS METHOD (even the keyword)):

1. SWITCH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY
2. TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN TO GET A MAXIMUM OF WATER OUT
3. IF YOU CAN, GET THE BATTERY OUT, IF YOU CANT (UNIBODY UNITS), JUST KEEP WITH THE FOLLOWING:
3. DON'T EVER TURN IT OFF AGAIN UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY
4. TO GET IT COMPLETE DRY:

-FIRST AND FOREMOST: DONT EVER EVER GET IT NEAR a fire (the battery would explode)

-TAKE OUT THE LID AND WRAP THE COMPUTER IN A BLACK T-SHIRT OR BLACK CLOTH.

-LET IT DRY IT UNDER THE SUN (ALWAYS WRAPPED, DONT EXPOSE IT DIRECTLY)

-WHEN THERE IS NO SUN, KEEP DRYING IT AS FOLLOWS:

-GET A PILLOW CASE AND FILL IT WITH 3 KILOS OF RICE (RICE IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE DRYING AGENTS ON THE MARKET)

-PUT YOUR COMPUTER INSIDE THE PILLOW CASE WITH THE RICE (THE COMPUTER MUST ALWAYS BE WELL WRAPPED IN A CLOTH, OTHERWISE YOU'LL GROW A RICE FIELD IN THE CIRCUITS)

5. LET THE COMPUTER DRY COMPLETELY (ALLOW FOR THREE FULL DAYS).

6. WHEN THE COMPUTER IS COMPLETELY DRY, TURN IT ON AGAIN AND SEE HOW IT GOES.

HOPE IT HELPS

which part made your caps lock stick?

That's pretty funny right there.

I'd like to live in a place that has pure water with no minerals or chemicals in it...unfortunately that place does not exist in the US.

Your body needs the minerals in the water. Drinking pure distilled water that lacks the natural minerals increases your chance of developing mineral deficiencies and increased body acidity.

Also, without the minerals the water doesn't taste that good (yes, water has taste).

This. The pure water theory - the chance that someone who spilled water happened to have some form of laboratory-grade distilled water - is so far removed from real life that you might as well not bring it up on these forums.

Spilled Water? Rice Thang??

When you wrap the Mac Book in a cloth ( White T-Shirt in my case) and in a pillow case should you have it opened and upside down above the rice?
