Spinning wheel when trying to view Shared Photos

Ever since installing iOS 12 on my iPad Air 2, I am unable to view shared photos in Safari. When I click on the link to the shared photos, I get redirected to Safari and then the browser just hangs with a spinning wheel.

I can open and view the shared photos link fine in the Google Chrome app. Just not working for me on Safari? Any tips on how to fix this?

I tried clearing the browsing history. Also restarted the iPad. No luck.
