I've run into yet another issue with Spite. After the Siri inquiry completes and she begins reading back the result, the iPad3 (Verizon) springboard restarts right in the middle. It's very consistent. I've tried reinstalling and that didn't make any difference. It's a fresh jailbreak so there's nothing else on it other than Spite.

That really sucks. What really is unfortunate is that these guys are profiting from chpwn's hard work. He released the source for Spire free a while back. These guys mod it to work with 5.1.1 and start charging for it and giving no support from what I gather.

are there any free siri servers or are all of them paid?

There are a few free proxy servers, but none of them that I give you the quality or reliability of a paid server.

I'm curious...

If I do buy a $15 slot, does this only work for 6 months? And can I use it on only my iPad? Or can I also use it on my iPhone 4?

As noted above, it's tied to your device ID provided for access. You can't use it on anything else.

As a follow-up about Siri crashing the iPad, I figured out why it is happening. The iPhones have apps/widgets that were not included in the iPad such as stocks, weather, etc. If you ask a question about stocks, the Siri server gathers the price and then tries to open the Stocks app, which doesn't exist and it crashes. If you ask about the weather, it tries to open the Weather app. I tried to install the tweak to place those on the iPad but apparently the tweak wasn't meant for the iPad3 as none of them work. So, as long as you keep away from asking questions which would address those apps you would be good. Everything else seems to work well (music control, calendar management, searches, etc.)

You have to install Spite iPad GUI package from Cydia, that will add the missing apps. Just search for Spite, you will see it in the results.

I tried that but the installer gives a warning about installing WeeApps and that it's not fully supported by iPad. It says it could cause problems with Xcode debugging, Siri ports, cycript "and other packages." So I went with the "Just Apps" option and nothing worked.

That's exactly what I did (selected "Just Apps") and it works just fine on my iPad 3 wifi. You have to make sure that you install the GUI portion after installing Spite itself. You can always try uninstalling everything Spite-related and reinstall.

GUI was definitely installed after Spite. The icons appeared on the homescreen but when I attempted to launch they acted as if they were launching and then right back to the homescreen.

Edited to add: I'm just plain out of options on this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled in various order. I did a complete uninstall of GUI and Spite 3.0.1 and then installed GUI only and I still have the same problem. I can bring up the voice recorder and the Compass. That's it. Weather's app framework loads and then it crashes. Stocks and Clock act like they're opening but immediately crash. I'll just avoid things that use those elements.

Siri Working on 5.1.1 untethered Jailbreadk

I got Siri to work on my iPhone 4 from Verizon. It does work if you are patient. I use to have a tethered jailbreak from red snow for 5.1.1. I had to restore my phone and DL Absinthe 2.0.2 untethered jailbreak for 5.1.1 first. After I did that I added the correct sources in Cydia and DL Spite. Once Spite finished it required a Reboot, and my phone came right back on and Siri was there. Set up was immediate, and I found the perfect Proxy Server for FREE and it runs super quick and faster than most 4s. It took me like 2 hours before it worked, but I finally found the server and just keep trying Siri until it responded. After adding all the add-ons in Cydia it's 10x better. Good luck. Email if you have any questions.

For those of you dealing with Technetec and his cohort S26Tech, he's posted lots more profanity because PayPal has taken action against his account and placed a 180 day hold on his funds. Warning - graphic language That happens when there have been a lot of claims and chargebacks against an account. Be careful folks. I like how Technetec posted that, after being told his server is down, he said he is not providing support because he's at a theme park.

He actually posted a screenshot of the PayPal notification:
