That stinks. They released an updated package yesterday and then a subsequent one late last night. I updated to both of them through Cydia and didn't have any trouble. I wonder if there was a bug in the first release yesterday for new installs and that's what spurred the second release. You downloaded it from the Cydia.BassamKassem.com repo right? I guess DFU restore and see SkyRa1n works any better for you. I'd be curious to hear other reports on how SkyRa1n works out. So far, I haven't bothered to try it out since Ac!d Siri has been working so well for me.

I'm running the Ac!D version of Siri, seems to work great so far. Rebooted without issues, and seems fast.

Currently using it with iMZDl's proxy without issues.

Restored phone, jb, I got it reinstalled but now I get a voice control screen instead of Siri screen.

----------

Never mind, dumb old me didn't turn it on in settings.

Took awhile for the cydia.bassamkassem.com/ repo to load, but once it finished, [AC!D]Siri installed without issue. Working great with IMZDL's Proxies.

Is Siri's responses and answers dependent on which proxy server you use? Say a paid proxy as opposed to a free one?

I'm testing out Siri with free proxies at the moment and whenever I tell Siri to send a text message I get this weird long "send mailto:drwallce@alice...etc"
Further, whenever I ask Siri for the weather she says, "Tell me about it!" Or if I say tell me the time she says, "you tell me."

so no one has mentioned security...

and I have no idea really about what is secure and what isn't sometimes when using certain apps. Im using a IMZDL proxy, and I noticed (and it makes sense) that while using siri for emails and messages, that my information is going somewhere...I don't know, to be honest Im not even sure exactly how siri works on the tech side of things...

Simple question, is it secure? No one seems to mention it, I'm just wonder if it's as secure as someone with a 4s and legit version of siri.

Thanks

While some are comfortable with a free server, I'm personally against using one. But I did pay for iMDZL. Truth be told none are "secure," as it's a redirect.
I'm not sure what they could even access or use, but being one of the larger Siri servers.. I'd like to think iMDZL, is not going to abuse it.

Spite iOS 5.1.1 works

I can confirm that the five dollar VIP membership to technetec is worth it. It works as described. So if you are like me and want spite on a a iPhone4 then this works. I use Sirizone wich is fast as my iPhone4s. I tried to use a pirated version of spite and it didnt work.

I paid for spite VIP access but today got rid of spite and installed ac!dsiri. Works much faster and doesn't slow down my phone like spite did. Kind of wish I hadn't paid for the access.

Been trying to download ac!D Siri BUT...

it has been failing after 3 to 15 minutes. It never finishes. Anyone know whats up with this?

thx

hey guys so, acidsiri is better and faster? id like to get siri on my iphone 4:cool:

Well, this debate about which avenue is faster seems to be one of individual personal preference. Or I may just be trying to justify keeping Spite from the iPhoneTweak repo. My dilemma, as I previously stated above was the lack of a real Siri server and using a lame Google API.

People here speak highly of iMZDl's service, which I may bite the bullet and pay the $20 yearly fee. In fact, I'm gonna go do it.

I agree I don't nessasarly like google API or I would just use a clone. If the repo is not pirated it works flawless. I have used it for two days I have had no problems once so ever since. My Siri response speeds are fine. I would be willing to prove it with a video on utube. I don't think people understand that Acid isn't the real Siri experience. I guess u get what you pay for tho. And if u can't afford it Acid would be a good alt.

I think you might be misunderstanding something. Acid is a Siri port that works on IOS 5.1. AFAIK it uses Siri files modified to run on older machines. In order to have a 'real Siri experience' it needs to connect via a proxy to Apple's servers. IMDZI is one such service, there are others. Using Acid via a proxy server is the same as using Siri on the 4s within the limitations of the older machine's hardware.

Have you used both? I have a iPhone 4s and I know the difference. I have used Acid and it doesn't even know how to respond to sking what time it is. So that's why I say it's a clone. I doesn't understand a lot of the responses that Siri can normally answer. By the way I'm running 5.1.1 on a iPhone4 with the spite from technetec and using Siri zone as my spire host. I have been ripped off by a few other company's. Icrackr Ispirehost both got me Ispirehost got me for two 20 dollar lifetime memberships.

Don't have a 4s to compare but I'm sure it's a better experience. Having said that using Acid on my iPhone 4 - when I ask for the time I get the correct time along with a clock showing the time. The difference in your response is that you are using a different proxy. Since we are getting different responses to the same question using the same program it has to be a proxy problem and not the program itself.

I guess your right because I'm using IMZDL Siri zone and I had a different experience with Acid. Maybe I missed something idk I'm starting to be confused myself now. Like I said and sorry to repeat myself. I tried to update from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. A pirated version of spite bricked the phone twice. Then I tried Ac1d with IMZDL and Siri had non Siri like responses like google API. So then I restored again for the forth time. Bought the VIP and haven't had a issue since. The one thing I will say IMZDL is blazing fast. I had two other ****** spire servers who screwed me but I'm real happy now.

Really odd. Now on 5.1.1, used Absinthe to JB and installed AC!DSIRI as Spire doesn't work on 5.1 or above.

In the house on WiFi, using my iMZDL proxy (I was the original advocator of them) it's fine. The second I leave WiFi and go out on 3G, it just hangs when I ask Siri something. The purple light just goes round and round.

I've rebooted the iPhone, turned Siri on/off, changed from Stargate to Sentinel server, no joy.

Looks like I'll just need to roll back to 5.0.1 with my stitched ipsw again and use Spire.

Ac1d performs just like spite did as far as Siri accuracy...at least for me it does.

I found AC!D far quicker than Spire, and had no problems with accuracy either ... until I stepped out my house and went onto 3G.

It actually worked for a few minutes while on 3G, but now it's giving me nothing but the purple light, like it's trying to connect, but it never returns anything.
