Spitting the DVD out

I'm trying to copy a slideshow from Aperture/ via idvd onto a dvd-r and every time I put a dvd into the drive it makes a few noises like its reading it then just spits it out, any idea why?

It may either be the DVD disc is not compatible with your writer or there might be something wrong with your dvd writer. Try isolating the problem by inserting the DVD into another writer or using a different brand DVD and insdert it to your writer.
