Split keyboard bug on iPad Pro 9.7

Sorry if this has been posted, but has anyone else encountered this issue? System-wide on my iPad Pro 9.7. Every time I do ANYTHING that requires the keyboard, it appears in "split mode" and in the dead center of the screen. Weirdest thing.

It's not a bug it's just undocked. Hold the keyboard with the down arrow and two options should pop up. Dock and split are the two options choose dock

Thanks for this! Odd that it would float in the middle of the screen and be split by default. Do not like.

How do you split it but keep it at the bottom? Mine goes to the middle even when I just select split

Use two fingers to drag the keyboard back together.

You mean drag them both at the same time to the bottom? I want to keep them split.

when I do this, it joins them back together. I have tried split and dock but I get a Merge and dock option after splitting.

Yeah, splitting automatically makes it float near the middle. Strange.
