So the split screen on iPad can be 50/50 and 70/30 or so. Use case, when I am using the splt screen 50/50, I often time want to be able to make the right side larger so I can see content better. I can only do the left side. Does anyone know if the screen can be splitted to 30/70 where the 30 is on the left side. It seems llke the 30 can only be anchored on the right side.

No it doesn't look like you can extend Split View to 30/70. I believe it is because in the 70/30, the small app on the right has access to that above navigation for switching slide over apps. There is no such thing on the left side of the device.

In other words, of the two containers, there is always one primary and one secondary/slide over.

I'm hoping Apple is working on a better solution to this, even if they could add the ability for 30/70 split, then the left side of the screen becomes the multi-tasking app chooser and right side would gives notification center control.

Yes, some improvements are needed in accessing/finding what your secondary App will be.

Might be nice with an iPhone-esque layout of small icons in a grid. Problem might be the confusion between the layout you see there, and the layout you expect on the Home Screen of your iPad. Then there are folders which complicate it even more...

That is suck. Thanks.

The one thing you can do is keep going past 50/50 all the way to the left and the secondary app becomes the new primary app. Then pull from the right again to bring your previous App to into 30%. Not the same, but accomplishes what you were after with the split.

Great tip!

The left part is always the larger part. A workaround will be slide the divider all the way to the left so that the right app becomes the left app quickly. But the left part is still the larger one.

I wish I could put a small Tweetbot on the left and Safari on the right.

That is what I ended up doing. It is just becoming few additional steps, but it works. I am hoping you can just do it. thanks.
