One thing I can't quite understand with the split window with the way Apple implements it. If you're holding your iPad in portrait mode why wouldn't you want to be able to split the window top and bottom like other android devices do?? This would allow a lot more use of the screen real estate in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
In other words if you're holding your iPad in a portrait or up-and-down position, why not be able to stream Hulu movies on the top half of the screen and on the bottom half of the screen run safari? That way it would eliminate any black lines on any movie or media videos that you're trying to view and would be sizing the split screens into two mini landscape screens. This seems like a very simple omission in implementing split screen use.

I hope they have this worked out by the release of the iPad pro since they brag about it being virtually two separate midsize iPads side-by-side.

Portrait mode makes sense. I'm sure this, multi-browser, more than two app limit, 3rd party app support, etc. will eventually come to iOS 9.5 or 10.

Thanks for showing off Mr. Big Pants. Try this one, what was the battery life when you were doing this for the remainder of it? 2-3 hours then charge time?

The S2 8" has a 4000mah battery running android 5.1.1 if I am correct which still has the total connection time bug for any app or service android os or 3rd party related that drains battery when in standby let alone when your using it...

If you have the 9.7" S2 it has a 5xxxmah battery which with the bigger high res screen even though its oled, it will drain crazy!

I had the tab pro 8.4 original then the "S" model. The first one with the PLS lcd panel and a 4xxxmah battery I could get at most web surfing 5-6 hours SOT that was on kitkat 4.4.2. If I gamed with my favorite games, 3-4 hours SOT. Using the "S" 8.4 tab pro with an oled at 1920x1080 res I got an hour more for SOT in web browsing and gaming.. Those models had the snapdragon quad core 800 series cpu.

The new S2 tab has was 6-8 cores, 3 gigs of ram, dual channel ac and better cameras with an oled display that is high res. Android is not optimized especially lollipop in any way shape or form even on a tablet.. So enjoy your 4 - x amount of windows multitasking I know that would kill the battery in that thing if everything is being used simultaneously in about 2-3 hours like a laptop!

No joking, I get 13-15 hours on my air 1 gaming 50-75 percent of time and the other 25-50 percent web browsing or videos thats of course on IOS 8.2. Air 1 has 8862mah battery or so.

My mini 2 has 64xxmah battery or so and gets 11-13 hours running IOS 8.4.1

My mini 4 has a 5147mah battery or so and gets 9-11 hours running crappy IOS 9. This includes the crappy attempt at multitasking and video PIP while gaming or doing anything...

So enjoy android and your s2 with 8" or 9.7" SCREEN that if you do anything cpu intensive or hell its in standby mode, the battery will deplete before you can finish a a video or two during multitasking and typing up a docUment or playing a game to get to a save point!

Sorry but I HAD TO RUB it in after seeing the screenshot! Unfortunately the reviews with factual scientific benchmarking proves that apple does know how to optimize the battery and in their older devices actually put a battery in with substantial size that keeps going and going... Compared to Samsung attempts to clone and copy apple and its tablet line up besides the phones...

This split view is still very green. Only a handful of apps support it.

It would be nice to have the option to choose but that will probably become available in a future iOS version to show on top / bottom.

The list is still very short indeed. It's odd that a lot of apps still don't have an updated app in the App Store to support these features.

It's a godsend that there aren't a slew of apps that can go in the slide over/split window selection window. How do you manage that thing? There doesn't appear to be a away to rearrange or remove apps.

I agree with you in regards to the missing search feature and option to deselect apps from Slide over menu. See also this topic with my list of missing features/problems with iOS9.
