splitting in garageband

could someone tell me how to split an mp3 track in garageband? i have multiple split sections selected, but cant figure out how to split the track.

1. Copy the mp3 file
2. Open the copy in Garageband
3. Split the track
4. Delete the part you don't want
5. Share->Send song to iTunes
6. in iTunes, convert song to mp3.

see but heres my problem, im splitting a concert, so i need it the whole thing, just in seperate parts

That's why I said copy the original file and work with the copy, so you don't lose anything.

Then you can repeat the instructions for each part.

ahhhhhhhhhh i c your point now, i thought u meant to make a new project for each one... ok that works
