I watched the Derren Brown thing... wow, right? As a, umm, cynical believer ;) I gotta say, he sucked us (me) into watching his TV screen showing the draw that perhaps they could swap his row of numbered balls without me (us) noticing? Hmm!! Gonna have to watch this show on Friday now!!!

We never saw the other side of the balls - maybe something was painting the numbers on the other side with a very thin stick?

No, that's just stupid... :D

(for the sake of the non-brits here, which to be fair is probably most of you, we're talking about a thing that just happened on UK TV where the illusionist Derren Brown (our David Blaine, some might say) went on live TV and predicted the lottery numbers, which he'd written on a set of balls, and then he put his TV on and showed us the live draw on the BBC channel - which was real, cos I switched over to the BBC channel and could see that they were virtually simulataneous. Anyway once the numbers were drawn he turned around his set of numbered balls (apparently he couldn't show them BEFORE the draw for legal reasons ) and well, yeah, he picked six out of six!)

can't help wonder why he didn't put a ticket on then - he would have won £2.4 million! not that he needs it i guess...?

sorry for the long story but it gave me something to focus on while waiting for the stream ;)

Whats the direct link to the stream once it's live? Can someone post it? I can keep checking if for the rest of you. I just need someone to provide it for me instead of going to the apple home page and looking for it there. Thanks.

Yeah, he said on his twitter that Channel 4 banned him from buying a ticket

How do you know that it was the live draw on his TV? It could simply be superimposed video.

seems like a pretty straightforward illusion. All he needs is a method of adding the numbers to the balls either physically or digitally (easy if he uses a single camera angle) after they are drawn.

Don't even think for a minute he had those numbers before they were drawn. Things like the lottery are quite strictly overseen.

party pooper: the video was filmed with one of the new iPod nano and iTunes 9 froze to dead :apple: servers...wait until revision 2 to get the video out

Oh yeah, those balls could have greenscreen on them - that makes sense actually - just superimposed live.

Sorry, nothing personal but it has to be done by HIS VOIDNESS, or it will not be the same =)
