The HD version usually doesn't post for a day or so, otherwise the bandwidth use would be nuts.

Heh. While the HD is of April's event, I copied the tail end of the URL from it and placed it in the existing current URL and got an HD version going, but it's truncated. Starts out already into it (showing off newspaper writer's reviews and such), and it only lasts just under an hour.

Maybe they're working on editing out the boo-boo's that someone said they heard had happened.

Maybe I'll just watch the SD stream up to that point then switch over to the HD one.

Oh yeah. That modified URL???

http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jun/1006ad9g4hjk/1006127iojapsoiujdv_hd_ref.mov

Note the change from "_650_ref.mov" to "_hd_ref.mov" (as borrowed from the April HD URL).

Maybe they're not posting that one until they get the whole video right (and actually starting at the beginning)?

I did scrub through to the end of this HD one and it does take you to the end, so I think for now you can switch off at.... Ummm.... Let's see.... The SD one says it's 1:52:47 (according to the ref movie dragged into iTunes Movies), and the HD one says 59:39 (dragged into iTunes), so you do the math... About half way through you'll be ready to switch over to the HD one (unless they have it fixed within that hour  ).

I would suggest watching just a few seconds of the start of the HD one just to see what he's saying there. No real spoilers at that point... Just Walt Mossberg bragging on the iPad, but it's your cue.

Have fun (and have HD fun in about an hour) :)

That's an old video. Not yesterday's keynote.

That's the OS4 thing from April. NOT the WWDC Keynote.

That's the OS4 thing from April. NOT the WWDC Keynote.

I took the June 650 URL (the SD one that everyone's watching now) and just changed the end to read _hd_ref.mov to reflect the URL style/syntax/format/whatever you wanna call it that was used last time. I was hoping that was this one. So an ".../events/jun/..." URL is really the April movie? Crap. Now that I pop through it I see that it sure as hell is.

[Edit:] The forum software is truncating the long URL... It reads as:
http + ://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jun/1006ad9g4hjk/1006127iojapsoiujdv_hd_ref.mov
Note the /jun/ in there?

I love how everyone automatically jumps down each others throat saying they posted the wrong thing. Have you considered that (like the ../wwdc10/images/title20100607.gif link poster earlier) that it's just an issue of caching and distribution, that the link posted is actually correct and Apple just isn't streaming the WWDC '10 keynote yet?

Take a look at that link again:

http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jun/1006ad9g4hjk/1006127iojapsoiujdv_hd_ref.mov

Notice anything about the month of JUNE in that link? Seems odd to me that you expect Apple would have labeled the April iPhone OS 4 event as something that took place in the month of June.

How about we all calm the fudge down and stop going after each other just because we're anxious, mkay? Geez I'd hate to see how rude some of you people are when giving up smoking or any other addictions.

I just got up in Switzerland. Is it safe to look?

the links are up, but with crappy resolution :(

on http://insightview.com/keynotechecker/ they posted the wrong thing:
http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/apr/1004fk8d5gt/1004767kjhgoiashdbnv_hd_ref.mov

Good keynote. I won't spoil it for you guys who haven't watched it but I just wanted to say it was fun waiting for the video to be up with you guys. I hope we can do this again in September. I think Apple always has events in September/October to release new iPods.

Based on their patterns shouldn't the HD version eventually be at this link?:

http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jun/1006ad9g4hjk/1006127iojapsoiujdv_HD_ref.mov

That was my thinking all along, only your "_HD_" needs to be "_hd_". My guess is that they just tossed the April one (why truncated like that, I dunno) in there to test it out, making sure it will work fine when they simply replace the April video with the June video. At that point they can then announce the URL and know it's ready to fly.

Hopefully it will also be the time the podcast posts (since it'll probably be the same video file that's used in both) for easy (and automatic) download.

I am looking forward to the next spoiler-free. It was worth the wait.

Steve made a few funny jokes about Gizmodo finding the iPhone haha.

Pretty cool, I reallllyyy want the new iPhone!

I have to say it was fun waiting it out with all you.

Almost 2000 posts! Now I can look at everything else! The blogs, the commentary, the youtube, the facebook, the drudge report, the apple site, everything! It's going to be a fun few days getting acquainted. ;)

Bzzzzt.... No spoilers allowed here. Until now I didn't know if Apple was coming out with a new iPhone. Thanks. Hehe :p

Actually, though folks... Please keep in mind that some of us are still waiting for the HD version before watching. My RSS feeds say there's 17 new articles going. Although this one wasn't really a spoiler, there's plenty of places to talk about all the new goodies.

Guess I'm going to bed, too, finally (4:30 AM here). Hopefully when I get up in a few hours the podcast will be downloaded and waiting for me. If not, then after my mid-morning nap (us old farts need to sleep a lot :) )

FTR: The resolution improved tremendously for me 20 minutes in. Though I thought this may have been due to wifi on my ipad (of course), but who knows. Hope you all who wake to watch this enjoy. Even knowing what we knew, it was still a good keynote (and funny, even with aforementioned tech issues).
