Does it charge any different? Do you wear the charger? Is Apple wrong to sell rubber bands with the Watch? My iPhone and iPad which were both more expensive than the Sport watch come with plastic charger, cable and headphones. Should that bother me?

Yea and so was my iPad and iphone. But you knew you were getting those chargers from the get go, not the same as the watch. Every commercial and Keynote they showed the metal one for months am I right? So you would think that's what you're getting, wrong you get a plastic one they never mentioned months ago, that's all I'm saying. Thanks

I'm not a chemist, but wasn't there some talk one point about how aluminum shouldn't come in contact with steel due to corrosion. Is it possible that this is the reason why the aluminum watch has a plastic charger?

Can anyone confirm the stainless steel one comes with the "metal" casing charger?

It does. In the review thread on this forum it looks as if the cable itself is a lot longer but the housing is metal on the charger puck.

P.S- after looking more close it looks like both charger lengths are probably identical but the housing is metal on the SS editions

Maybe the aluminum casing would be too easy to dent if you accidentally hit it against a harder metal ring on the charger? (as opposed to steal which wouldn't dent)

Agreed. This is the first time I've seen that plastic charger or heard that one existed. I bet in the commercials they never show the Sport being charged and it is always the SS that gets charged.

Now here is the question, does Edition come with a special charger? Perhaps a bit of gold on that as well.

It's not that it's a big deal, but all along I thought they ALL came with the shiny metal one.

I've seen the watches in person and tried them on. They're all very nice. It just seems apple is clearly separating the packaging experience between the sport and the stainless.

Is it the end of the world? No,but kinda sucks.

Here's the Edition which looks like the SS model although the box on the edition doubles as a charger as you can see.

I wish you guys would stop dismissing everything. Whenever someone complains, threads are filled with sarcastic remarks. Like you guys refuse to listen to any criticisms when it comes to Apple. This is news to a lot of people, and makes the Sport look much cheaper in comparison to the other models.

It is -- but would've have cost that much more to use the same boxes and chargers?

But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The metal one may scratch the aluminum.

I suppose you could pay for a metal charger.

Or maybe they will have charger casings? Or decals.

Third party chargers.

Is there something special about the SS box? Looks like the same material as the Sport box just a different shape. I actually prefer the sleekness of the Sport box.

Geesh lighten up.

What do you want us to do, get angry?

This doesn't make sense :D

I understand this may be news, but I don't see it as a huge issue. It is just a charging cable. We are so sarcastic because people regularly make mountains out of mole hills. Visit often enough and you'll be just as jaded as the rest of us.
