My preference is definitely torwards the Watch over the Sports watch.

Having said that I am not going to get this thing if it starts at 999$ like Gruber said, by the time you pay for upgrades and a couple of decent bands your probably at around 1500$ for a watch you will use 2 years? No thanks.

This is the 1st generation of this thing, I am not going to pay 1500$ for something that will be completely obsolete in 2-3 years.

If I can get the stainless steel model for under 1000$ then maybe, if not I'll pick up a sports model in space grey with the black sports band for what I assume will be around 500$

Same here.
If it's 1500, I would rather buy a nice used omega speedy pro or save up for a watch I would actually wear.

I'd like to get the black stainless steel model and just have a strap for work (probably a leather loop one) and a strap for exercising, I'm not sure if the rubber straps will be manufactured for the stainless steel model though?

All 38mm bands fit all 38mm aWatches (ditto for 42mm).

I wonder will other bands be available for the Sport? At least the simple black leather band would be nice.

Apple will sell all bands separately and the Classic Buckle may be what you want. 3ed party bands will probably hit the market before the aWatch is even released. So there will probably be dozens if not 100's of bands available by mid 2015.

I live an active lifestyle outside of school and the office. Stainless for me. I feel like it can hold up as well as the Sport edition.

i wonder how much heavier the stainless one will be.

i would prefer the stainless one but since I will probably only wear the apple watch while working out or when i'm dressed very comfortably, I would prefer it to be lightweight.

The Apple Watch Sport website says it's up to a third lighter than the regular Apple Watch. That's pretty significant.

I'd like the black aluminium with either the black link strap or the Milanese loop. Hopefully the nice metal straps aren't too expensive - I can't wear synthetic or leather straps.

Of course we know the Sport starts at $350 and I said 'about' on the Watch. John Gruber has the Watch starting at $1000. Some say closer to $500. I just split the difference.

well I say $10, now split that difference :D Its all hear-say until Apple announces it, so lets not make up prices.
