Hi,

i have ordered a apple watch series 2 sport but want to buy a stainless steel band for it. the guys in apple told me i shouldnt do this as it can make the metal cause a reaction and will also scratch it when i attach the band. Is this true? Was he just trying to get me to buy the more expensive watch face?

Thanks

With my gen1 watch I did this exact thing. Unless you're purposely trying to scratch the watch body or are very anal about the colors not matching perfectly you don't have anything to worry about.

Yes, it's corosion with the aluminium and stainless steel
It doesn't really matter

The aluminum is painted and the stainless can over time scratch the finish. Apple wasn't trying to talk you out of a $450.00 band.
