What exactly is the material of that little silver circle on the inside of the sports band?

I wore mine for 10 hours and noticed when I took it off, the part of my skin where it comes in contact with the silver circle was a little red.

It has to be a different material than the watch itself because there was no redness or irritation on the top of my wrist.

Could it be an allergy or just something my skin has to get used to?

It is stainless steel I believe.

If it's stainless steel, then that's the problem, I have an allergy to stainless steel.

Looks like I may have to break down and get a different band.

Do you think I could maybe use some kind of material to cover up that stainless steel circle on the sports band?
