I just signed into Spotify and it says, "Sorry, Family plan members aren’t eligible for this offer." :( It would be nice if they offered this deal to Premium Family subscribers as well. I'm also a Hulu limited commercial member and I would definitely pay $20/mo for both Hulu and Spotify Family.

No way to use Spotify family plans or Hulu no-commercial tier. It will be interesting to see how much this helps either company. This had the potential to lock me in, but instead they have made the higher their plans appear to be a worse value. Ironically reducing the perceived value of their premium plans makes me MORE likely to switch to Apple Music, since for the same price I could also get Apple’s video content.

I pay for Hulu without commercials, it's definitely worth the extra $5/month. I spent some time with relatives who have the cheaper bundle and half the time when the stream was interrupted by a commercial the app crashed.

Anyway, extremely disappointed a similar deal isn't available for the Hulu without commercials tier.

Yeah, why not just make it: "Have Hulu? Get Spotify Premium for $4.99 a month!" I'd suspect they figure people who paid extra for Hulu commercial free, are not as likely to be price driven for Spotify Premium (i.e., they'll pay without a discount), but I for one (looks like there's at least a few of us), would sub for $5 month, but don't now.

Was sold until I tried to sign up and saw this...

Hahaha, that image created a small black hole of irony right on my monitor :D

Has anyone who is already a subscriber done this yet? It wasn't totally clear to me what the process is. Do I sign up via the link on Spotify and then separately tell Hulu to move the billing to Spotify, or is it all taken care of in the initial sign up process?

Apple should team up with Netflix then they could give us:

Apple Music + Netflix for £15 a month

I would hate if that happened, I'd probably lose my Netflix HD family plan that I only pay 5 bucks for. Then Apple would probably try to remove every show/movie that is rated Pg-13 and up.

Hulu on the other hand, I don't like at all.

I'm already a Spotify subscriber, but Hulu really doesn't do anything for me. My wife pays for Hulu since we're cord cutters, but frankly she is the only one who uses the app. We watched the first season of Handmaid's Tale which was pretty good. Hulu would have to release more original content in order for me to actually use the service.

Nah it would still be HD Netflix and no I don’t think Apple would do that, they sell 18 rated stuff on iTunes. I’m not talking about buying them simply partner up and offer them both for a good monthly price of around £15

My biggest issue with hulu is lack of surround sound and overall image quality is just ok. Though if this bundle worked with a spotify family plan I would probably add it.

This deal is useless if it's not the ad-free tier of Hulu.
I agree. I hate ads and Hulu like CBS has the worst ads every many DTC drug ads and stupid insurance and WorstBuy. I would sign up if they offered the ad-free Hulu for a bit more. Really Netflix can do that with T-Mobile just pay $3 a month. Why can't Hulu.

If Hulu and this deal existed in Canada I would definitely have to give some thought to giving up Apple Music. Not good new for Apple. Wonder how much of an effect it will have on their subscription base.

I confirmed with customer support at Hulu that the billing move is all taken care of when signing up for the bundle. It was a quick painless process to get setup. Saving a few bucks a month is alright with me.

So... if I'm already a Hulu subscriber, how would I go about signing up for this? Do you have to be a current Spotify Premium subscriber in order to be eligible for this?

I agree with the majority of the comments posted here ... "limited" commercials = limited appeal for this deal. We pay for Spotify Premium and we also pay for Hulu's commercial-free option and there's nothing here for us.

I'm never impressed when a good deal is made available and yet withheld from their most loyal customers. That's not good business.

So...Apple buys Netflix and Apple Music + Netflix? :D

Apple renews Disney deal with Netflix.

Take my money
[doublepost=1523481720][/doublepost]Until I become a full blown cord cutter, cloud dvrs with Xfinity completely removes a “need” for Hulu.

As a Netflix-only subscriber, I forgot that paid Hulu tiers have commercials. A good deal nonetheless but I really hate watching ads.

Eh they vary in length depending on how new the content is, older content I usually see it skip over the ads entirely and get back to the content without break, or show a quick 15 second ad, newer content (as in current seasons, which Netflix doesn’t support) will have ads, but the breaks are often shorter than the typical cable commercial break. I have cable but I usually will just watch new episodes the day after on Hulu because of this.

Getting both for $4.99 as part of their student bundle. Dropped Netflix and haven’t missed it.

Before I was paying for Netflix, Hulu, and Apple Music (dropped Apple and Netflix). I’m very much liking the increase in competition in this category :p

We are paying for the ad-free tier and I think it pays for itself by the fifth commercial I get to not see :)

Wait Netflix does what? Are you referring to Netflix On Us? What's for $3?
