But you buy Apple products, makes sense. I'll just leave this right here...Foxconn.I dumped Spotify when I found out they don’t pay artists very well. So price increase, don’t pay artists, old technology - no thanks

It's an Apple site so you'll get people defending Apple. Apple Music isn't bad but for me Spotify is the better option and majority of people agree with me (outside this little Apple fanboy bubble) as it by far the most popular music streaming service. This thread vibes like a school bus argument over whether Sega or Nintendo is better.
"Nintendo has the FX Chip!"
"Oh yeah well Sega has blast processing!"
they wasted a lot of money on exclusivity. Joe R.. etc..Not being a dick here, but Spotify has never turned a profit. In 2022 it was a €236 million loss. Revenue was increasing each year, and loss was dropping, but the exchange rate means that 2023 has seen revenue drop.
Only spotify? Apple just did the same thing a year ago...Only Spotify can pull that one off and people won’t even budge.
I cancelled due to other reasons 2 years ago after paying for a good maybe 5 or 6 years and they haven’t send me a single email giving me like a free month or a discounted rate to come back.
Getting a Nintendo will always be part of the greatest Christmas I ever had, but Sega Genesis is still the king when it comes to the difference in graphics from one generation to the next. I will never forget seeing Sonic the Hedgehog for the first time! Sorry, I had to!!This thread vibes like a school bus argument over whether Sega or Nintendo is better.

Even that is going up in price. Got an email notification that premium is going to be 18.99 a month from the current 12.99I’ll stick with YouTube Premium (which includes Music).
I agree, but that was $200m over 3.5 years, which is around $57m a year. Even without that they still have an operating loss of around $180mthey wasted a lot of money on exclusivity. Joe R.. etc..
Exactly. Spotify is Nintendo and Apple is Sega, but the Sega Kids just know that while the Game Gear has color and the better specs, the Game Boy has the games and the battery life. And the there's Tidal/Atari Lynx. This thread vibes like a school bus argument over whether Sega or Nintendo is better.

Spotify could charge $50 a month and I'd still use it over garbage Apple Music. That app never optimizes, so I had to constantly re-open it to get it to connect to anything and the shuffle is complete trash. Just to name a couple of issues with it. It gets stuck in these 50-100 song shuffle loops. Apple Music is about as useful as Siri is to me. Also, most of the people who mention lossless are probably listening to Apple Music in lossless mode via Bluetooth on Beats gear or some trash "Hi-Fi" system at home filled with Polk speakers in 3.1 surround, a Sony AVR, and HomePods while screaming "LOOOSSSSLESSSS" and pounding their chests like Kong. 🤣
And when the dust settles from the outside pay options, they'll hike it again. Prices are only going to go up. Why I use the free version. They already don't pay artists adequately as it is. I'd use AM but they don't have a free option.
Problem with that is I can't lock my screen and listen while driving unless I pay for YTP. Which is more expensive and artist pay is just as tenuous.Sadly it seems Google has this one figured out. May as well just use YouTube for music and let the ads pay the artists.
Apple is going down the dark path of advertising anyway.
"bar one" or "but one"?Spotify beats Apple Music in every possible area...bar one. And that is the sound. Switching from Spotify to Apple Music on my 2015 iMac is as though someone has lifted a heavy duvet off my speakers. It's several light years better. I can't go back to Spotify - even though I vastly prefer the experience. If Spotify caught up on sound quality, I'd ditch clunky Apple Music in a heartbeat.
Bar one. Probably a UK only expression. Means the same."bar one" or "but one"?
