And I'll add one more: What if I don't want my recommendations ****ed up because my wife/gf listens to music I don't like.I'll add one more: what if both individuals want to listen at the same time? Can't do that with one account.

They just have the other person enter your address. It’s a stupid rule honestly. People should be allowed to sign up from any address, but they don’t verify the location, only what you enter. How can they possibly confirm a physical address for so many people??
So what you're saying is your girlfriend has really bad taste in music. 🤣
I’m fortunate that my girlfriend has amazing taste in music. She can use my Spotify whenever she likes. But it’s still good to have separate profiles for various Spotify features.I was reading that she had good taste but he didn't🙋♀️

If the Biebs popped up on my suggestions I would die inside. What’s nice about Spotify though is you can block an artist permanently across the entire service so they never appear again.Oh absolutely. Not least because I prefer to not find out the hard way that my wife listens to Bieber on a daily basis...
That's divorce material right there 😆

Yeah just search for the artist, click on their page, click the three dots settings button, and select “Don’t play this artist.” Magic!Really? Now that I did not know.
Thanks for that: I've never groked why Spotify's AI constantly pushes certain artists at me that I have zero interest in and have never listened to.
I always thought the AI was sentient and was on a personal vendetta against me.

There is a sucker couple born ever day. Couples don’t need separate profiles
For all of their customers who will take advantage of it. If there were to be a human element to it (which I know isn't something that we see often today) it wouldn't be feasible for them to do so.For so many people? Two?

Streaming overtook purchasing revenue a while ago so I think you're pushing a dead duck there! Why does MacRumors feel the need to promote Spotify?
It exploits artists and makes consumers believe that they support the artists.
Buy albums and downloads. This is how you enure that your favorite musicians can keep creating.
All members enter their address. If it matches you're fine. There's no way for them to "know" but - at the moment - it's a good enough check for the record labelshow would they know we live under the same roof?
Here's what I want... a couples plan that dynamically shifts the licenses between devices.
So for example, I have my Spotify login on my computer and phone. My roommate has his on his computer and phone, but also is the account on the smart speakers in the house.
I can't use Spotify on the smart speakers when he's not around because he might be using it in his car on his phone, for example.
Meanwhile my own Spotify license is not being used at that time... would be nice if it dynamically shifted that license for the smart speakers to use even though they're under his account.
I mean, unless I completely misunderstand -- you can't use a single account on more than one device at a time, right? I'm sure there's some options to stream from my phone to the smart speakers but I'd like a more elegant solution straight through the speaker.
With Sonos, you can choose which account shows, which removes the need to pick an account. I've got the same set up with both me and my partner's accounts logged in but I only see mine and she only sees hersI think smart speakers let you login with more than one account. For example, my Sonos has both my Spotify account and my wife's Spotify account logged in at the same time. When I play something, I select to play from my account. When she selects something to play, she selects it from her account.
Plus some services won't allow concurrent usage. You either kick the last user off or you get a warning you can't play until the other user stops.Dumb take. I'd rather the crap my girlfriend listens to not affect my history and recommendations.
They also require address verification on family plans - none of this is new.Plus some services won't allow concurrent usage. You either kick the last user off or you get a warning you can't play until the other user stops.

Nice to see someone giving a break to couples instead of just the big families. Do they want addresses for everyone on family plans also, and if not, why are just couples being scrutinized? And I agree, it would be nice for Apple to do the same for their services.
I have a Bose with Spotify Connect, works with multiple Spotify accounts including guests who simply have the wifi password, no magic required for the speaker, it gets discovered by any Spotify within the same network.I think smart speakers let you login with more than one account.
