If you're paying someone for a hacked satellite TV box, what is the point?

If you're paying someone to live in a house that they don't own, what is the point?

By all means pay for a service like this (I pay for Spotify), but make it one where you're actually getting something for your money.

I Pay for Spotify too and I get something for what i pay for... what's your point? I pay for Sky, but what do i really get? the ability to consume something that i can't keep (same with spotify)....

I'm talking about paying for OTHER services that don't have the legal right to sell what they are selling.

I pay for Sky too, but that's because they have the legal right to sell the programmes they transmit. I wouldn't pay them if they were illegally offering the programmes - I could just download them illegally for free by myself.

Ahhh thousands of shades of gray Well that's their problem and only thing that matters to you as a user is that you will not be prosecuted for listening to their streams. Just be careful what you upload if you do so.

IMO artists/actors are spoiled in America. If you enjoy playing an instrument/acting and making others happy then do it and accept a decent pay for it. The idea of I play music/act so I should be able to afford a Ferrari and a mansion seems a little silly to me.
