So I’m curious... you think it’s ok that Spotify not want to allow other services to use their tools to move content, but it’s ok for Spotify to want to use Apple’s software development tools, and platform, and application delivery and updating and everything that is involved... free of charge...? You don’t see the irony in that?
When has Spotify argued about it being free of charge? They pay a developers fee, and they quite rightly pay a fee on all transactions made through the App Store. As far as I'm aware, all they want is to have the ability to offer services outwith the App Store and not pay a fee for that.

That's not the case though. You're not transferring content. It's the playlists you created and data you saved that is unique to you. To that you have all the rights as per GDPR. That's all people want and they are right to do so. Trust me, if Spotify would put up a banner stating at sign-up that you can never transfer the playlist you created to another service, they'd be dead in an instance. No one would ever subscribe to their service any more. They want to allow for competition? Great. They need to stay competitive. Currently they're not.
You really think everyone, or at least the majority of people that signed up to Spotify had intentions of transferring their playlists to another service, and further, you honestly believe nobody would have subscribed on those terms? I would bet every penny I have that for the vast majority, at least 90% of people, it wouldn't have even been a concern.

I have never ever subscribed to a streaming service thinking that any lists I create must be able to be exported. That just seems bizarre that that would be why you would or would not subscribe to a Spotify or a Netflix type app.

You can always use my shortcut for transfer to Apple Music
Link
It uses Apple Music API for creating playlist because built-in action is buggy - to authorise and generate tokens use My auth shortcut

Spotify is going to be much smaller after some of the studios create their own services. Just like when Marvel left Netflix. Spotify will have to sign artists, but that’s not easy. They will have to hunt social for new talent.
