Wonder if it failed because the people without the screens are lower income?
That made no sense. Everyone owns a phone is why. C'mon .
Wonder if it failed because the people without the screens are lower income?
Bingo -- it's unnecessary for any car with CarPlay or a decent Bluetooth interface, but it requires a consumer with both a Spotify subscription and $90 to drop on a non-essential, single-purpose item -- the very market most likely to have CarPlay or a decent Bluetooth interface. Take out those who wouldn't want something like this in their car in the first place and you're left with a pretty small group of even potential buyers.Wonder if it failed because the people without the screens are lower income?
Sure they did!Sounds like Spotify didn’t even have a business plan for this car thing.
Exactly what I was thinking.2004 wanted their devices back?

Part of the ‘fail fast’ mentality of modern businessPoor market research, before the committed to develop this "Car Thing."
Uh, no. My cars are 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012 and none have bluetooth streaming of audio. Handsfree phone yes, audio streaming no.I actually surprised your 2008 doesn’t have any native Bluetooth audio. Thought that was pretty standard in the early 2000s.
Just read up on this this thingAnd now the CueCat can rest in peace, knowing it is no longer the biggest flop in history.

Rest easy, CueCat. Rest easy. Car thing can can take it from here.....
Would love to have been in the room when leadership signed off on this thing.
Macro headwinds were to blame in the endLack of demand I bet.

I genuinely wonder how the amazon car alexa is working. Why create a product that has somewhat limited use today that will continue to decrease in need as old cars are replaced with new cars with standard issue infotainment? Like I might get this if I have an older vehicle, but in a couple years, I won’t need it.
