The overlap of "not having Carplay" and being a Spotify user wasn't nearly large enough to make this even worth an attempt.

Wonder if it failed because the people without the screens are lower income?
Bingo -- it's unnecessary for any car with CarPlay or a decent Bluetooth interface, but it requires a consumer with both a Spotify subscription and $90 to drop on a non-essential, single-purpose item -- the very market most likely to have CarPlay or a decent Bluetooth interface. Take out those who wouldn't want something like this in their car in the first place and you're left with a pretty small group of even potential buyers.

2004 wanted their devices back?

Exactly what I was thinking.

I feel like such a device was doomed to fail since its conception. The price of this had to be low enough that they would use this instead of just opening the app on their phone. But there was no way they could do that and also incorporate the hardware features it had and not make a loss on it.

Almost looks like the first Sirius/XM unit I had for my car. It was a Kenwood unit, and I loved it. It seemed to cache the signal better than other receivers. I remember the knob was pretty cool looking. So this looks dated. That Kenwood died YEARS ago. I think Sirius had a car unit that had a biggie knob like this. *shrug*

It might have been a success if it mimiced a full car play experience, preferably wireless. On that note, why doesnt apply allow a carplay mode on their iphones and ipads? there are millions of cars on the road that are not carplay capable and it would great to have music and maps on my phone displayed in a carplay fashion, with audio handed via bluetooth

Why create a product that has somewhat limited use today that will continue to decrease in need as old cars are replaced with new cars with standard issue infotainment? Like I might get this if I have an older vehicle, but in a couple years, I won’t need it.

I genuinely wonder how the amazon car alexa is working.

32 mln € for display with knob. LOL
Is this budget included jets and Maldives holidays for 1000 persons?
