I am another MOGGER, I don't get the big attraction with Spotify. All that karaoke crap they have in their library. That is the only reason they remotely have more songs than MOG. MOG's library is so much better for the generes I listen too over Spotify.

MOG also works with my head unit and Spotify does not!

Also for all you that keep saying Spotify is 320kb, the real deal is that a lot of their library has NEVER been upgraded, so you are being fooled into thinking that. But to the poster that said if you really care about SQ, then you'll pick MOG is absolutely correct. They don't both use the same file format and in my opinion MOG has superior SQ PERIOD!

I do have the free Spotify just for checking it out but was a premium subscriber. This radio setup is deplorable and nothing close to being as good as Pandora. It maybe Pandora like, but that is where the likeness ends!

MOG 14million songs
....
Spotify is 320k as well

...

Nope, you are suckered by their advertising, but not noticing how vague they are about the percentage of songs encoded to 320k.

While Spotify would not go on the record, they have been implying "60-70%" for a couple of years now.

But random tests (google is your friend) show that only about a third of their songs are at 320 while the rest are at 160k.

I've compared both and I can definitely hear a difference. For the same price, one has to be stupid to chose lower quality.

320k is at the point where most people can't tell the difference between it and lossless.

I switched to MOG from Spotify because (at the time) Spotify didn't have an iPad app. Then I discovered a noticeable difference in audio quality between the two (I like the sound of MOG much better).

The only thing is, I miss the "radio" feature and/or being able to browse by GENRE. It's harder (on MOG) to find the kind of music I want to listen to at a given time, at least on the iPad app.

That would be my one big gripe with MOG is no ability to search by genre and sub-genres. I really don't understand how they left that feature off. It is my understanding they have submitted an update for the iOS app that will bring playlist creation and editing to the iPhone/iPad. I am looking forward to that.

I do sometimes use Spotify or even iTunes to search for music then once I have the specific finding it on MOG is generally pretty easy.

So 100% of MOG is 320k?
Certainly everything I listen to is available in 320k on Spotify. I've never personally used MOG as I'm in the UK but I'm sure each service has their respective pros and cons.

Virtually all I've tried on MOG is 320k.

Informal tests for Spotify are at about 1/3 available at 320k, while 2/3 of their catalog is at 160k.

Not good enough, if you want to play over decent speakers, IMO.

MOG is overall much better, IMO, and that goes for the catalog, as well (Spotify has a lot of covers, it seems).

Seriously, MOG has been a game-changer for me: since I first tried it, I have all but abandoned my lossless collections of CD rips (which I had collected over the years :) The quality is close enough to a CD so that I pretty much can't tell the difference.
