Spotlight bug with iPod?

When I had shuffle on in the iPod app, and I typed in a song name in the spotlight app from the home screen and click on the song, it did not play the right song!
It played another song on the same album, but not the song I clicked on.

It does not happen all the time.
Has anyone encountered this problem yet?

Sounds like this is normal, you did have shuffle activated.

I've had this happen to me once as well. It played the song on the album that was before the one I selected. Going back into Spotlight and selecting the song again resulted in the right one being played, though...

I reported this bug when Beta 5 came out. It's still "open".

This is what I noticed: Say you wanted to play Track 7 from an album. It would set that song as Track 1 in the shuffled playlist, as it should, but then start the playlist with Track 7 in the playlist which was a totally different song. If you skip back seven songs you'll find the one you wanted.

I experience the same bug on my iPhone 3GS, and it is incredibly annoying. I went to apple's website and filled out one of those forms.

You should do it too... maybe if enough people complain they will get off their arses and do something about it.
