Spotlight file type problem

Hello,

This is more of an annoyance than a major problem. The problem is that when I use spotlight to search for photos, many of them are identified as "documents" rather than photos. Since they are identified as documents I do not get a thumbnail preview. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?
