I have an interesting problem with the Spotlight in the upper menu-bar. When I enter anything in there, the menu-bar resets (the icons disappear and appear again) and the magnification effect in Dock switches off - just for a moment. Beside that, everything works. When finding something through Finder, everything is OK, as well as the mail etc… In another account, it behaves the same way. I tried to turn off all the third party apps, delete the index of Spotlight and let the new one indexed, and delete "com.apple.systemuiserver.plist"… But nothing have changed.

    Console sais:
22:25:25 com.apple.launchd.peruser.502172 (com.apple.SystemUIServer.agent8611) Job appears to have crashed: Segmentation fault
    22:25:27 ReportCrash8623 Saved crash report for SystemUIServer8611 version 1.6 (298.16) to /Users/honzakloucek/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/SystemUIServer_2011-02-23-222527_Chairle-MacBook-Pro.crash

Verify and Repair disk permissions? Worth a try.
