Spotlight question

    Spotlight is nice, although I miss the older search and being able to search one folder. Spotlight worries me a little, because someone who boots up my computer can easily search for stuff that was sort of hidden away before with Panther, and not necessarily named in a revealing way. You can search for terms like "checking account," or anything else that might be private.

    Anyway, I have some encrypted disk images that I open part of the time. Where are these indexed? I hope my main volume doesn't have a list of everything I keep in these private volumes; does it?

    just use spotlight prefs to deem what is and isn't indexed.

    I tried this and anyone can go into Spotlight preferences delete the secure folders. It is not password protected. MC
