There is a bug in spotlight search that causes that sometimes you don't find anything including apps, music, and more.
A lot of times I try to search something and I don't get any result, then after trying again I got the result.
I have the same issue with an iphone 6 with ios 8.1 and my ipad air with ios 8
Since I updated to ios 8 I find this bug.
I have in my ipad more than 1500 photos and 500 apps, in my iphone I have more than 10,000 photos and 400 apps.
I am sure that this bug appears when you have more apps and photos than normal because my ipad and ipad air have 128GB
