Spotlight Search crashes all the time in Leopard

Here is the update on Spotlight Crashing that I promised!

I promised an update on Spotlight crashing and here it is:

Since ltldrummerboy posted to try to repair permissions from the Mac OS X Install DVD and then reinstall/ install 10.5.8 Combo Updater, I have not had one crash. I tried this on August 8th and it is now August 16th. Not one crash in over a week. Perfect. Spotlight is back to how it should be and was working. I just want to say thanks to ltldrummerboy for the suggestions and I hope anyone having issues with Spotlight crashing reads this thread, as it really works. Here are the steps I took (if anyone is interested):

Steps:

1. Download Combo Updater for 10.5.8
2. Repair Permissions using Mac OS X Disk Utility on Mac OS X Install Disc
3. Restart into Mac OS X
4. Run the Combo Updater
5. Restart
6. See if Spotlight still crashes. If not, congrats. If yes, Archive and Install time!

I just want to say thanks again! Issue, solved!!!

I have not had the problem since 10.5.8. came out. I simply updated via software update, no repairing permissions or anything.

I did notice less crashing after updating to 10.5.8, but there were still a few.
