I had my phone repaired at the Genius Bar the other day and noticed there are now three unusual spots/stains underneath the back glass. It's hard to tell from the follow (see below), but it looks like air? Or maybe it's just glue residue?

Should I be worried about this? I assume this is fine since the technicians would have inspected the phone after repairing it, right? If this was anything other than just air or glue, they would have done something?

All that to say, if it's just air or glue, I don't care (it's barely noticeable and I use a case anyways) and wouldn't go back to the Apple Store obviously. But if it's something else, I'd like to know.

Thanks.

Usually they replace the device for such a repair. If they replaced the entire chassis (which it sounds like they did) It's possible that rear glass has a defect. I'd take it back and have them verify the defect and replace it again if necessary..

The thing is, the Apple Store isn’t close to my place. If it’s only cosmetic, I’d rather avoid a trip there lol. If my phone has been working properly since I got it repaired, is it fair to assume that this is a superficial defect?

Yes, it won't cause any usability issues just cosmetic. If you're not bothered by it then Id say put a case on it and enjoy your device.
