Springboard ???

    Hello I am a programming student, so excuse me if there is an obvious answer to this question. What does the term springboard mean, I here it alot on iphone development websites. I have google the term but couldn't find an explanation of its meaning. Thank you for your help.

    The springboard is simply the program that is always running that displays your icons, clock, status bar, etc

    Sorry, I figured you wanted to know why Apple named it the SpringBoard.
