As I said in another thread, most of the people on my plan just use email, facebook, etc. I use the most and I'm only at 700 meg 3 weeks in. I looked into a smaller plan, but because of how AT&T does the pricing, they are all the same price. Nice to know I have some overhead should I need to tether or want to Facetime on the road.

This would be great if I had other people on a plan with me. Right now, with just myself and my employer's discount it's $87 with 3GB of data :(

I hear ya. It was me with my parents having 2 basic phones. In that way, mobile share would have never worked. So we joined up with my wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Now we all have iPhones for less than we were paying before. My parents pay a tad more, but not much.

I agree if you don't have a lot of people to share with, it's not great. It seems that 3 is where it starts to make sense.

I had Sprint and that's actually a really good connection for them. I switched to Verizon a couple years ago. 2x-4x faster in the exact same locations all over town. Yes, it's more expensive but I get a lot faster data and better voice for my money. Of course that was before Shared plans, the decision would be a lot harder today.
