Account type not supported.

We’re sorry. Your account type is not supported. Please contact your Sprint account manager or call *2 from your Sprint phone in order to verify your eligibility and complete your iPhone purchase.

Any idea what this is?

----------

I forgot to mention it was on apple.com

It means you don't have a data plan, like me. I have Messaging 450 right now, with unlimited texting but no data. You need it for a smartphone. I'm trying to change my plan right now but the account settings pages are totally offline on the Sprint site, and I cannot preorder an iPhone until the settings have been changed. :\

i got the same - with a data plan

i am on a family plan with my parents - we have one of the more expensive/premium plans and i'm receiving this same message. such BS. i currently have unlimited data on my blackberry so this can't be the case. can anyone help?!

I'm on a family plan too with 2 evo's on the plan...no go. i fly right through apple.com until that point.

I also have a data plan, on a single line, and am getting this message on the apple site. Mine almost went through on sprint before it broke.

just successfully ordered on sprint.com

update: just successfully placed an order on sprint.com, received word that it should deliver on october 14. didn't run into any of the issues i saw on apple.com with account type not being supported. good luck!

What does the order status page from the confirmation email say for you?

Also, to the OP, from all reports I'm seeing, Apple can't do upgrades for family plans, special rate plans, or possibly accounts with an ineligible plan type.

For some reason Sprint and Apple's data exchanges aren't going through very smoothly. If you can, go to Sprint's website and pre order there. Site is loading slowly/infrequently, but I got my order in and it only took about 10 minutes after the site rendered properly.

Also, if you order from Sprint your card is charged immediately. Good luck guys, I'm going to bed.

I am on an family everything data plan so i think i should be able to order it but it says my account is restricted from online and i have to go into a store and show an id to get it restored or some bs like that. i'm gonna go pre-order it at best buy right now if not there then at target.
