I like this guys hair and attitude. And T-Mobile has the best jingle in the biz. But I like how they were naming virtual carriers as actual carriers. In reality you’ve cut 4 down to three. Straight talks where it at because they use all 4 carriers. But they lock phones for a year so that blows
Sprint and T-Mobile have finally reached a merger agreement, which means if approved by regulators, two of the four major carriers in the United States will combine into one entity in an all-stock deal worth billions.
The new combined company will be named T-Mobile and current T-Mobile CEO John Legere will serve as the Chief Executive Officer. Sprint and T-Mobile say the company will be a "force for positive change" in the U.S. wireless, video, and broadband industries, supercharging T-Mobile's Un-carrier strategy and allowing the new company to "lead in the 5G era."
According to the terms of the deal, T-Mobile plans to exchange 9.75 Sprint shares for each T-Mobile share. Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile's parent company, will own 42 percent of the combined company and SoftBank, Sprint's parent company, will own 27 percent. Deutsche Telekom will have voting rights over 69 percent of the new company and will appoint nine of its 14 directors, while Sprint will appoint four.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere said that the combined company will "create a fierce competitor" that's able to "deliver more for consumers and businesses in the form of lower prices, more innovation, and a second-to-none network experience," while current Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure, who will serve on the board of the new company, said that the merger will make the U.S. a "hotbed for innovation."Along with the faster rollout of 5G technology, Sprint and T-Mobile say the merger will lead to job creation, lower prices for consumers, improved coverage, and "unprecedented network capacity."
The deal between Sprint and T-Mobile still needs to be approved by antitrust regulators in the United States, but if it goes through, the U.S. will have three major carriers rather four. The combined Sprint and T-Mobile company will have nearly 100 million customers, putting it second only to Verizon.
Sprint and T-Mobile are aiming to close the deal "no later" than first half of 2019. More information about the merger can be found in the press release and in a new "All for 5G" website the two companies have created.

I switched from AT&T to T-Moible in Feb. 2017 - I get better coverage free roaming in tons of countries I travel to. I also get better service plus 3 lines for less than what I was paying with AT&T for one line. I no longer need to 'look" at my data usage. Thanks T-Moible the very first cell phone company I actually like....

Name a phone that cost $1000 that you could get for under $300 with contract. Phone subsidies were about $200 to $300 themselves. Sometimes you could do better with a BOGO, but rarely for a new release device, and never for something that cost over $700.

Exactly!! It's painful ... yet not only that but all the constantly obviously (yet blind CRTC) with respect to collusion of rates! one raises, the others follow except the low mvno's or wind, ahem Freedom Mobile which is pure junk anyway. I mean what carrier gets exclusive subway transit communications rights and yet is BETTER in the subway than they are above ground?! LMAO. This isn't funny really it's really sad.

They should stop using the only part of the network that ever worked?
Still waiting for the next evolution of wireless. Technology already exists to embed wireless into new and existing buildings so towers will not be needed in the future. That's what I am waiting to see. Towers are ugly
1. There's literally no track record to support this.
2. It's his company to run, not yours. It's shareholder property, not yours. They don't exist and produce value by your privilege, so long as they produce the service you want, and the price you feel like.
3. If they try to shaft people, someone will do to them what they did to the whole industry. How that company will do it is also not a concern of yours.
4. Stop bashing success because someone was successful. Say thank you, and protect all our rights to use our property.
Well I'm thinking emergency services and the FCC may have rendered those bands segregated from public use. I maybe wrong though ... but how many are still using that network feature?

I know what you are going to say. That's not iDEN or the true PTT network. Sadly, it's still the only thing that works right on Sprint.
