So maybe sprint should fix their 4G first before they start getting into 5g

"So maybe they should fix the horse trails before we starting building roads for automobiles." ... I'm sure some people said...

As other have pointed out, the 5G equipment does 4G as well.

Each new generation is more efficient, and provides greater coverage while using less power. (Which is relevant for those with health concerns.)

With backward-compatibility there are no technical negatives to upgrading the network. It is strictly an economic decision on the part of the carriers. They will want to be ready when the consumer equipment becomes widely available. It impacts both their ability to deliver service and competitive pressure.

It would make NO sense to build-out further with equipment that will be soon obsolete.

according to who? Is it proven
So you’ll believe some random videos etc over the people that actually designed and engineered the technology? People always get worried with new technology... over nothing

Given Sprint can't provision 4G in Uptown Dallas (HUGE completely dead spots), I can't begin to imagine how well this 5G rollout will go :/

anybody else worried about all these health risks that 5g causes?
Nope. Not in the least. Why? Because it's rubbish spread by the same people that don't vaccinate kids. When the American Cancer Society says the idea is rubbish, I think I don't have anything to fear from 5G or cellphones in general.

Honestly looks like a made up report...
It's from RT, the Kremlin's American mouthpiece that they use to sow fear and dissension.

I recently joined sprint on a business line. I just dont understand how they can go 5g if i cant even get volte on the Xs. Being with att on personal side - someone educate me...will their new massive “modern” network have 5g volte and all that and old one is being decommissioned?

There is no need for 5G, other than "overpopulation" control.
Have fun with cancer while you can watch 4k youtube on your 5" phone.

Didn't we just have an article that stated 5G chips would not appear in most phones until 2020?

For phones with Intel modems yes. So as Apple are likely to switch to Intel modems, we won't likely see a 5G iPhone until 2020. Phones with Qualcomm modems however will be "5G Ready" this year.

VoLTE is supported on the iPhone 8 and later on Sprint, and it’s been launched in a number of markets across the country. Go to settings > cellular > cellular data options > enable LTE (for voice & data). It’s possible it’s not in your market yet.

Sprint’s new network equipment (Massive MIMO) for 5G is capable of split mode, which means it can run 4G LTE and 5G on the same gear at the same time. This is because of Sprint’s substantial 2.5GHz spectrum holdings. All that’s involved for upgrading it to support 5G is a card and a software update. No tower climbs are required.

There wasn’t this kind of spread fear with any other cellphone technology. It’s just 5g. So yea I tend to believe what I’ve been seeing about it

People were saying there was fear with each new technology advancement... 2G, 3G, 4G...
Don't worry, if the Cancer Society says it's nothing it's a non-issue.

I have Sprint because my work pays for it. I live in the D.C. suburbs. Coverage is ABYSMAL. I switched from AT&T, and it wasn't great, but gosh, was it better than Sprint. My wife has Verizon, and I constantly have to borrow her phone so that I don't throw mine out the window. Until Sprint improved their coverage, any increase in speed is a meaningless marketing ploy in my book.

People that designed it might have a bias.

I don't have Sprint but it's pretty cool they're coming here to KC as one of their first cities. Idk what it is about this town but telecom companies really like using us in their initial test runs. Google Fiber is available here and it's unequivocally the best internet service I've ever had.

Dozen of peer-reviewed scientific articles showing dangers of 5G are hard to ignore.
Dr. Martin Pall from the Washington State University (WSU) explains below, if you have 9 minutes to spare.
