Are you 100% sure they can't block at the MCC/MNC level? if they block AT&T at the baseband you will not have roaming in my country.

Based on the testing everyone has done so far and the process by which ultrasn0w works to unlock GSM basebands on a jb'd iPhone I would say yes only at the baseband level, though it is possible that there are other methods as well, but even if there are I'd say locking at the baseband level is the preferred method with respect to iPhone.

If you have any friends in US with a Sprint iPhone 4S you should invite them to visit. Then let me know, I'd be glad to be proven wrong.

I activated my iPhone 4S on Sprint and then left 30 minutes later for the UK. Chopped my 3 UK Mobile SIM into a micro SIM, popped it into my iPhone, and now I have voice and 3G data on a local SIM.

Hi, I have just read this thread. Recently I got an Iphone 4s as a present from the US. but they were locked to sprint. They called sprint to unlock it for usage abroad. however the iphone was not activated in the US i think. Now I tried inserting a T Mobile sim and an O2 sim frm the UK but it wouldnt activate at all, it comes up with a message saying '' Sim not Valid, Only compatible Sim cards from a supported carrier may be used ''
I would be gratefull if anyone could help me on this case. if more info is required i am ready to provide it. If anyone know a way out of it please let me know ASAP. thanks aloottt in advance.
