    1. I preordered Fri morning, and paid the $221 for a 16gb white iPhone. But now, I am looking at my bill that is due in 15 days, and they applied that $221 to that bill amount. Will the $221 just pop back on this coming week that I owe. I am hoping this will not hold up my iPhone.

    2. I just read on engadget that TEP will NOT be available on the iPhone. I did not choose applecare+, as I was planning on using TEP. If I goto / call Apple (or Sprint), can I add applecare+ before the phone is activated?

    Thanks in advance.

Can't help with the first one but can chime in on the second.

I just got off the phone with Sprint and they said there is no way for them to add AppleCare plus onto the order. The only way is to cancel your current order and place a new one on the website. I told the woman "absolutely not".

I then called apple and the rep said I can walk into an Apple store this week and purchase AppleCare plus after telling them my issue. Unfortunately, I have read about others not being able to purchase it until the 14th with iPhone in hand, unopened.

I am planning on calling the local store to see what their opinion is before making the trek over.

Are you sure. I know that applies to Apple Care bit I was under the impression Apple Care +had to be purchased the same time as the phone.

Not true. Terms and conditions were not updated for the Plus version. Apple confirmed this over the phone.

At this point no iPhone is available on Virgin Mobile. Apple is releasing an unlocked iPhone 4S "in November" and it's possible although doubtful that Virgin will allow its users to use this on their network. We'll have to wait and see.

The amount deducted from your bill is normal, the amount of the phone will be added on, when it ships.

thank you for clarifying the bill issue.

I will try to get applecare+ from the Apple store before I open it.
