Well, like I said in my last post, your own link to the CNET review says that they had better results with their Sprint iPhone as opposed to their AT&T one.

It all depends on Location Location LOCATION

You're stating facts to things we already knew when it comes to overall quality. But as far as I am concerned, it will still boil down to where you are.

I wonder if even Jobs realized exactly what he had on his hands in 2007. This phenomenon is set to be even bigger than the iPod. And all Apple really wanted was a little bit of share.

People keep repeating that last bit without thinking about it.

Obviously Apple wants all the share they can get for the product they're selling.

It's just at the time, a small share was all that Jobs was willing to predict. They had no idea whether it would be a longterm hit or not, or if some competitor would arise.

I dropped Sprint because of how terrible their iPhone 4S speeds were. I never once topped over .75 Mpbs download, and .14 upload. Now I get 4-6Mpbs download and 1-2Mpbs upload on At&t. And you can't use iMessage if you're on a call since that uses data and CDMA has no voice/data at the same time.

Personally, I'm shocked Sprint's stock is still so low. Time to buy.

Probably because their balance sheet is still in bad shape, which scares many big investors. So if their plan does work, they still need time to dig themselves out; and since they offer no dividend, investors don't get paid to wait.

.

Good analysis - with this in mind, perhaps it seems reasonable to expect to see prices begin rising in 6 months to a year.

can I ask you if you have Sprint as your service? I have ATT.. and I didn't switch to Verizon when I had the option because downloading was noticeably slower on Verizon and reception where I am for ATT is good. When I go on long trips or out of the area I wish I have Verizon but just isn't often enough. And have the unlimited data which there are now throttling, which is BS. But Sprint isn't an option.. Just isn't... for my LOCATION.. it is much worst in both categories.. and I am not exception, I am rule as you can see with other posting in this forum.

Yes, however, on average, across the US, AT&T is the fastest, Verizon is the most reliable, and Sprint finishes last. Most studies worth mentioning take location into consideration.

So to sum everything up, a happy medium is Verizon, which has the best call rate and decent download speeds. I'm very happy with Verizon and average about 1.5 Mbps everywhere in the Phoenix Area and I have hit 3 Mbps in certain areas.

Totally fine with me, I have no need for anything higher than 2Mbps. No streaming interruptions at all, plenty fast for surfing, and no dropping of 3G connection.

Obviously.

And most studies DON'T take location into consideration, as per the links that were posted previously.

Sadly it seems that blind AT&T worship is the only thing worth discussing with you. Asking if I have Sprint service (which you can find out by my first post, is hypocritical to you having AT&T.) As I've said previously you're screaming answers to questions no one asked.

I also said, that I live in Baltimore, and for some reason Sprint just LOVES Baltimore City. AT&T on the other hand is a little suspect.

Why would you buy it now? The more iPhones they sell they more money they loose. Wait until they drop iPhone (or reduce the subsidies on it).

I think the price is artificially low because of the sudden increase in iPhone sales/subsidies. Once the vast majority of those subsidies are off the balance sheet, but all the increased revenues from the MANY new customers still ARE, their profits are going to smash expectations.

Careful, kdarling - you know I got a lot of downvotes for stating the same LOL. (Neither kdarling or I care about downvoting).

EVERYONE CARES ABOUT DOWNVOTING!!!!

It has to be the reason for 80% of the nonsense that's posted. You either post something good and witty about Apple or face being downvoted into oblivion!

Sadly, the posts that are downvoted the lowest make the most sense in many threads. To seek out you and kdarlings posts I just look for the one that's been ranked the lowest.

I was one of that 40%. I switched to Sprint because AT&T didn't offer an upgrade path for existing iPhone 4 customers to the 4S.
My Sprint download speeds in Downtown Seattle, not exactly Bumblenuts, Nebraska, were atrocious. If I was lucky, I could get over 100kbps down (yes that's hundred not thousand).
I recently switched back to AT&T with a used 4S from eBay. I lost my unlimited data grandfather status, but I wanted tethering anyway. And other than tethering, I rarely use even 1GB per month.
I did find out that if you complain loudly enough, file a BBB complaint, and make them spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars researching why their network sucks, Sprint will let you out of the contract without paying $350.

I think you are correct however, the other problem with Sprint's stock is their addition of $10 billion in debt needed to build out LTE. That will be a drag on Sprint stock for a long time to come, otherwise Id be buying it up.

And with Sprint being the only wireless carrier in the USA that truly offers what they advertise, meaning unlimited being unlimited and they treat their customers better than AT&T, it will be a matter of time that they see people jump ship to them.

*Full disclosure, I day trade and currently holding a long position in S. I am also a dissatisfied AT&T customer that is looking for a new wireless carrier as soon as my contract is over and Apple releases the next iPhone (iPhone 5).

I am not to surprised by the results but what I want to know is what is the percentage of new sprint subscribers who got smart phones vs dumb phones.

The competition had their chance. Apple struck first. Now they all copy, copy, and copy. *cough* Samsung!

We are all right there with you. It's easy to tell who's with which carrier on an iPhone related thread.

Agreed, but let's not forget about where Apple got it's version of the notifications center. ;)

I heard it's better than AT&T's abysmal service though.

you heard wrong....AT&T may be greedy with it's data but at least it's fast and reliable if you're not throttled:rolleyes:

nobody wants to leave AT&T for sprint...most of us know sprint's data is too slow and you can't use it while on a call...most AT&T customers are stuck, and some want to leave, just not for a CDMA carrier
