I'm looking at the Sprint unlimited everything plan for $50/mo.
They start you off with an iphone 6 (or 6+).
Can I just engage the hotspot and forget about it?
What I'm really after is an unlimited data hotspot, but no one wants to offer that.
Thanks.
Unlimited high-speed data, which I assume you are thinking either includes or means 'Hotspot', refers to the phone only.I've been looking for the fine print on that.
As of today it says this on the website:
Exclusively for iPhone 6
Get unlimited high-speed data, talk and text while on the Sprint network
Included in this plan:
Unlimited high-speed data
Unlimited talk
Unlimited text
Total: $50.00/mo**
You're saying you've never engaged the Personal Hotspot on your iphone?
No. What I am saying is that when I had a personal hotspot it was $20 a month for 2GB.You're saying you've never engaged the Personal Hotspot on your iphone?

If you do not pay for the option then the option will NOT appear in Settings.
Sprint is not like the other carriers.

Can I add Mobile Hotspot on this plan?
Yes, Sprint's national Mobile Hotspot add-ons are eligible with this plan.
- $10 per month for 1GB*
- $19.99 per month for 2GB*
- $49.99 per month for 6GB*
*All prices and on-network data allowances are per month per line.
Additional on-network data for 1GB add-on: 1.5¢/MB. Additional data for 2GB and 6GB add-on: 5¢/MB. Monthly off-network data allowance is combination of phone and hotspot usage; roaming restrictions apply.

I wonder if my phone is different then? Or perhaps my plan?It will be an option, but when you try to use it, it will give you a message to say call sprint to activate it.

I show no Personal Hotspot option in Settings.
iOS 8.1.3, iPhone 5, Everything Data 1500.
I think I do remember that. I can understand the confusion then.I'm sorry, you are right. I have not looked in a while, but remember (back when I had IOS7) it used to be an option, then would just give you a message to activate it.
Mine is removed as well now.
