Found a few cases on Amazon that add flat edges to iPhone 11 Pro Max and earlier.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this as an alternative to upgrading for the sake of design.

The Spigen case on my iPhone 6s has fairly square sides.

Think I'll upgrade this year because I'll get a new battery, larger screen, faster processor, more memory, more storage, and I've reached-end-of-upgrades.

Not just to get "official" squared sides. 😀

Hey, if you can do it then that's great. My wife and I are on the iUP plan (apple upgrade plan) so upgrading is really easy (few clicks of a button). Obviously the cost is a little more but it is nice having the latest and greatest.

That said, these devices are frigging expensive. Paying $600+/year (on the Upgrade Plan) for these things is getting expensive (especially x2 if you have a partner).

I'm sure Apple doesn't mind. My wife and I went from the Xs Max to 11 Pro Max due to the camera upgrade primarily. This year we'll see what's going on but I think there is a good chance we won't upgrade.

I always say that... then upgrade. So...

Haha too real on my end. Same. Upgraded for the camera but realized they can have a massive leap in performance now but incrementally upgrade the cameras for a reason.

Also because I found the 11 Pro Max on sale for $400 off retail - might switch to waiting a year after release ...

I say this now but then....

oh the spigens are nice. 6s to 12 will probably be an epic jump

I didn't even pay full price for my 6s! I buy an unlocked phone outright. Leaves me free to change my mind without any limits. Bought it something like five years ago and not a penny since. So have not spent as much as $600 on physical phones in all that time. I am a cheapskate - when I can.

(Such a cheapskate, I finally got round to disposing of my old, well ancient, Samsung Galaxy S2 a few months ago! Got a handsome moneyback on a recent Samsung then sold that at a good profit on eBay.)

On just about the cheapest unlimited data package.
