Sometimes the keyboard gets squished while using Messages. Is this a bug I should report or is it user error on some feature I don’t understand?

Image attached along with normal keyboard for reference.

Well, one's upper-case and the other is lower-case.

In iOS 26, the keyboard overall size doesn't shift but maybe it does in 27. Report it in Feedback Assistant at any rate.

I've seen a variation of this -- but not on the beta. On my son's iPhone, running iOS 26 and with parental restrictions enabled: sometimes when he wants me to grant him time on something and shoves his phone in my face with the number pad already on screen, the number buttons will be narrower than normal such that the entire keypad takes up about 70% or so of the width on the screen.

I think these are likely to be related bugs that were introduced during iOS 26 development, and just don't crop up very often.

Is this what you see?

Uhhh... wow. No. That right there is a seriously messed up keyboard.

I'm afraid I don't have a proper screenshot to share, since it doesn't happen often or reliably... but I threw together a quick mockup of what it generally looks like, from memory:

The point being that it's just the numpad and not the full keyboard, and the buttons don't actually look "glitched" like in your screenshot. Normally, the buttons would be stretched such that the keypad fills the full width of the screen. In a vacuum, this keypad could seem perfectly normal... except that it's simply not what I usually see.

To put it another way: Where OPs keyboard is squashed vertically, my son's is squashed horizontally... but not glitched.
