Hi, I have a new sr mbp 2.4 and i have vista installed on it via bootcamp. I also have a dell 2407 monitor which for those that don't know is a 24" widescreen with an optimal res of 1920x1200.

When i connect the display (via dvi) in osx it works fine at 1920x1200 but in vista its a different story. the highest resoution i can set it to is 1024x768. how can i get the max resolution out of it in vista? i've looked into upgrading the drivers of the graphics card but have had no luck there....

    anyone got any ideas?

cheers for that but i'm having a problem installing it. If i go through control panel to "add hardware" and select have disk and click on the folder containing what i have just downloaded, i get an error which reads

"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for 32-bit systems."

the folder contains 3 files which are:

    2407wfp.cat
    2407wfp.icm
    2407wfp.inf

i don't understand why this won't work as the download page says the driver is for "Displays: Dell 2407WFP, Driver, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Multi Language, Multi System, A Rev" and i'm running vista 32-bit.

    any ideas????

ignore that last post, i've managed to install the driver but it hasnt solved the problem. All it has done is changed the name of the monitor to the correct name instead of "universal monitor".... the resolution still tops at 1024x768!!??!?

mmmm. I'm not at my own 2407 at the moment, I will be in the morning so I'll give it a go. I know it works with Vista and my Mac Pro, so I'll try it with my SR MBP tomorow and let you know if I have same problem, or if I find a workaround to solve it.

    :)

This topic has been discussed a number of times in different forums.

If you hook the display up with the Apple DVI/VGA adapter you will be able to specify higher resolutions, but in digital mode you are out of luck until Nvidia releases an improved Vista driver.

LaptopVideo2go.com is a good resource for updated drivers, but again Nvidia is struggling with the complex Vista driver model. If and when a good Vista driver does become available I would expect it to be picked up in the next Boot Camp update.
