I didn't see it here anywhere but during my try on appointment the apple employee was showing me why the steel link bracelet was so expensive. Each part was crafted individually and it supposedly takes 9 hours to make one. Also you don't need to goto the apple store or a jeweller to remove links each piece of the bracelet has like a tab on it you can push in to remove links in seconds she did it right infront of me with no tools and removed a few links in seconds. $500 is still expensive but made it a little easier to swallow.

With all due respect... Have you not read any of the hundreds of posts, news articles, press releases and Apple's own videos about this?

how often do you adjust your band? There's no way they can justify 500 dollars for a bracelet. I'm waiting for third party band

With all due respect no I haven't cause I had no intention of buying it. I've been reading this forum everyday and havent seen it posted so maybe someone else with no intention of dropping the money will see this thread and think twice.

I agree with you but I still thought it was pretty cool

Have been under a rock for the last few months? :D

$500 is a fair price for any decent bracelet and Apple's link is the most innovative one available now.

I wouldn't risk getting a cheap bracelet that may break and damage the watch when it fell off my wrist.

Past experience with 3rd party accessories have not been all that great... Unless you are buying them as disposables but they will add up quickly to the cost of a genuine Apple product.

Lol I guess so. I balked at the price and never really investigated further but I thought I would of read it here somewhere must have just missed it. My bad bros.

I just hope they keep the bands compatible in the future. If they do I don't mind the pricetag

+1

Actually the cost of the Link Bracelet is about right considering how much they cost in the Swiss Made Brands. The quality is equivalent to the lower end of the Swiss brands which is very good. I'm happy with the quality and price.

except it's not a Swiss hand made, it's Chinese machine made.

I was shown how to adjust link during my try-on.. each link has the push button to release the individual link, just like that for the bands.. its super simple.. you wont need any tools to adjust.. i think this was mentioned in keynote in sept or march..

I'm well aware it's not Swiss made and that's why I say it's priced accordingly. It's priced that much because it's not Swiss made. Like someone else said, our iPhones etc from Apple are made in China.

People are shocked at the price of the SS Link bracelet because they don't know much about watches and that's fine. Apple is catering for everyone and that's why they offer the rubber strap etc.

I once had the Pebble Steel for a very short time. The SS Bracelet is made in China and only cost about $30. It does not compare to the Apple SS Link bracelet. You get what you pay for

My question is......will apple sell extra links

I will be removing about 4 links, and I'm sure many others will remove links as well. Maybe people will offer them in the Buy/Sell forum ?

Just curious, what makes Apple's "the most innovative one available now"? (I'll ignore that it's not even available right now and presume you mean next month).

Links removable with zero tools and a (very nearly) flush latching mechanism. Even on ~$1000+ watches you typically have a protrusion within the band at the bottom as thick as the band itself when it's folded. It's not terrible, but, a flush one is a pretty cool design element.

Tried it at Apple Store. It is available right now. (You just can't buy it yet)

But the point stands, don't pick on technicality.

Wait, you really thought they were gonna sell a $500 bracelet that's not adjustable?? How many perfectly fit hands is that exactly? LOL

;)
