Still really happy with my ss3. Apps are usable, everything just runs as it should. I got 18/12 on my stand ring yesterday and my battery was at 68% when I went to bed. My SS0 38mm was barely getting to about 10hours without dying...

I upgraded from a S0 & S2 Silver SS to a SB SS. Was really skeptical on how the SB would look or go with my bands.

All I can say is I LOVE IT! The black looks so sleek with the darker bands and the contrast with the lighter bands make it look quite striking. The only band I’m not too keen on is the Apple classic leather tan strap. My favourites are the Apple Milanese black ( and even the silver looks cool) and the white sport band.

The speed too from the S2 is noticeable. I said it before (on this thread I am sure), my favourite Apple purchase for a long while!

I’m planning to upgrade from my s1 to the s3 cellular pretty soon. I’m just trying to decide if I’d like to go to a 42 mm from a 38. Any other ladies with smaller wrists do the 42mm?

Same here. I was undecided between the regular stainless and black stainless , and I ultimately upgraded to the black stainless. I like how rare it is where I don't see this one a lot in the public and its overall durability.
Was so happy with the build quality of the origininal SSSB that there was just no way I would consider anything else. SSSB was the only option for me, just debated on if this was the time.

Honestly, one of the things holding me back is the fact that I'll have to upgrade to High Sierra to get the unlock to work. I'm hesitant to upgrade my Mac because I have a podcast and my USB audio interface may have issues with High Sierra and that would not be good.

I really want to upgrade from my original, but I’m really finding the Mac unlock feature useful. I also am keeping my MBP on Sierra, so if it’s true that the new watch won’t unlock Sierra then im stuck where I’m at for now.

I decided to upgrade to the Series 3 even though I like this feature too - I am still on Sierra though. The last thing I want is to update to High Sierra and then not be able to record.

So I have had the S3 for about 24 hours now. My thoughts:

  • The speed increase and responsiveness are indeed striking. As others have said, it does make the device much more useful and I have already started adding more apps on the watch since you can actually use them. I was pretty used to launching an app on my S0 and just putting my wrist down and doing something else, then checking.
  • The speaker, alarms, and haptic feedback seem much improved.
  • Siri speaking is surprisingly useful.
  • The improved heart rate metrics are very nice. It's exciting to see where they are taking this wearable tech. It's not hard to imagine numerous biometric sensors adding data to Apple Health.
  • I can't tell a difference in thickness, but I know it's there.
  • I can't activate LTE currently, but the battery life is so much improved that I wonder if the occasional LTE connection is worth the reduced battery time.
All that being said, I have to give it to Apple on the S0. It is still a very useful product, pretty amazing considering brand new product line. The S3 is a worthy upgrade, but I could still do most of what the S3 can do on the S0.

I bit the bullet today. Went from a SBSS to a SG aluminium (not LTE). Looking on ebay a near £900 watch has reduced in value to less than £150 after 2 years. Will be stick with the cheaper model from now. Keeping the SSSB band though, still looks good.

Speed and battery are massively improved.

I have a SS S0 and have been tempted to upgrade as well. Question, do you notice the speed with home kit app/devices as well? I can deal with the delay for most things but I hate it when I'm trying to turn home kit devices on/off and I'm waiting for it to refresh the current state of my devices.

The battery life improvement sounds enticing as well, I would like to wear my watch for sleep tracking but with the current battery life its a lot to juggle the charging. If I only had to charge once every two days that would be huge.

I went from S0 to S3 and have several HomeKit devices (sensors, lights, etc...) and it finally makes it useful. Also dictating things for Siri (homekit things) actually makes them happen fast and not have to wait like 10 seconds for the watch to process the command.

I think the battery has been improved because the faster dual core processor isn't working as hard As it had to on the first Gen Watch, which helps alleviate the battery from being drained quicker.

I think I’m going to replace my S0 with a S3. (This thread is helping to convince me.) I wanted to get SS this time, but as LTE versions are not available here, so it isn’t an option.
The resale value of the S0 is really low so I’m wondering if it is worth just keeping it as a second, working in the garden etc watch. Does anybody know how activity tracking handles changing watches part way through the day? Is all the data sync’d between the 2?

That is what I did from S0 to S2 and activity transferred across (it’s in the cloud). I now have a S3 and plan to sell my S2 (as there is a bit of resale value there) and still keep the S0 for gardening etc or whilst charging my S3. The Activity Rings may take a few minutes to sync, but they do.

Also, in the watch app set it to auto switch to the watch you are wearing and it will change to the watch on your arm as soon as you put it on.

Great thanks, that being the case I will keep the old one. The S2 (and even the S1) still sell for reasonable money, but nobody wants the S0.

Went from S0 SS to S3 Nike+ and yes, this thing is blazing fast compared. I had no idea the torment I was living in.

I just made the jump from the series 0 to 3. Massive speed difference. Siri actually works haha

Same. Actually telling Siri to turn the lights on and off works. It’s actuslly better than my echos.
