Ssd and win7 advice please

Early 2013 MacBook Pro with 500gb hdd partitioned and running os & win 7 bootcamp.

Everything is fine but struggling with space for video files.

Thinking of replacing the optical drive with a 240gb ssd for both operating systems and keeping the hdd formatted fat32 for media to be used by both OS

Any thoughts or advice?

I'd put both OSes on separate partitions on the SSD, and use the HD for storage.
