Don't get the C300 yet, their firmware is crappy right now. It managed to brick themselves and they have no idea why. Read Anandtech site about C300.
I'm not getting the C300, I'm getting the OWC SSD which is based on the Sandforce controller. The C300 is based on a Micron controller. While the reliability Sandforce is still in question, its a new controller, the OWC implementation does have a 5 year warranty.

I thought about possibly getting the OWC SSD but decided to go with Crucial C300 instead. Read a lot of OCZ Vertex Limited Edition dying on people. (Both based on Sandforce and same firmware that I'm aware of.)

Although Crucial C300 also has its own issues, Crucial has stated that they know why their SSD died while Anand was working with it and also the Trim issues. New firmware should be out sometime in April... whether their firmware update fixes both or not we'll find out soon enough.

Reading this now has me back at Intel. I'm 51-49 on either or. I'm flipping back and forth more than an average politician.

Never make a tech purchase based on something that should be fixed soon. Either wait until you see it or choose something else.

SSDs are still immature.

Indeed though I am personally willing to roll the dice on at least one. I appreciate everyone's help though.

SSDs are generally reliable (not withstanding slow speeds for older models), as long as you don't get the cutting edge ones.

Even then, that is why we should make use of the Time Machine feature.

The C300 is not being used (got a great deal, so bought it for the future), waiting for firmware update and refresh of MBP line. Other SSDs I have in use are 2 Intel G2 ones, 80GB in MP and 160GB in wife's UniMB and OCZ Vertex 120GB in Win7 system. Haven't had any issues with any of them, blazing speeds and love them.
