Yes... Yet somehow, my gut tells me this is quite possible. 😱 😀 😛

Yeah, these companies aren't dumb. Get everyone all hyped up and planning to buy and then offer it for only $5 or $10 less and the majority of people will still buy it. And if we're talking Americans they'll even barrow in order to get it. 😛 Apple whet one better even. They pitched the hype and then even raised the prices - almost double.

The consumer mind is a strange place. 🙂

Yup. 🙂

Never accept all the marketing hype without research, or under estimate greed. 😀 😛

Yeah hehehe... But I dunno if American style consumerism is actually greed or not. I hear it always being referred to as that though. It's the want of something new and/or shinny - the desire for distraction and complexities. I guess it's near greed - whatever... Whatever it is, you're right, is pretty powerful. What a massive contrast our society must be with that from even only 100 years ago.

I was thinking more in terms of corporate greed. 😉 But applicable both ways I guess. 😀 😛

Ah, yes. Greed the fundamental motivation or mechanism behind nearly all corporations and companies.

More more more! Gotta have more! It's not enough to own the planet - they want to own YOU! Muahahahaaa

Exactly. 😉 Enter the new form of slavery. 😱 😀 😛

Maybe... Are the SRP listed anywhere? Wouldn't it be funny if the 80GB model was $345 instead of $350.

Here are the SRPs:

"the G2 X25-M will be cheaper than nearly every other performance SSD currently on the market" - PCPer

Here's a preorder link for the new Intel X-25M 34nm at zipzoomfly:

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10010801&prodlist=celebros

which was priced for only $232.

Pricing the new Intel-x25M at 345$ instead of $350 like you said, after Intel stating that it would be indeed half the price of their SSD due to the 34nm technology is not funny, but rather stupid and sarcastic like this ---> 🙄
