Have successfully installed the ssd along side the original hard drive and all has gone well so my next step - install os on ssd so can boot from the ssd. when I go to disk utility and click on the actual ssd drive name it says SATA internal Physical Disk - Mater Boot Record and when I click on where it says new volume it says Unknown . windows NT Filesystem so do I click on the name of the ssd and format that or the New volume and format that, also I am on High Sierra.

If click on the actual name of the ssd I get the below options:

APFS

APFS (Encrypted)

APFS (Case-sensitive)

APFS (Case-sensitive, Encrypted)

Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)

Scheme says:

GUID Partition Map

Master Boot Record

Apple Partition Map

If I click on the new volume the options are:

Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)

Which of the above do I need to do?

Thank You

Ok guys everything is done and transferred using migration assistant but the only thing I have noticed is with the SSD if i delete anything it is not giving me back the free space, trim is enabled.

How can I fix this?

Thanks
