am considering getting a modified ipod classic with upgraded storage, I see some with an msata ssd, and a high capacity sd card, which is better? which would be less prone to corruption?

I mod them as a side business, prefer SDXC cards. Don't have to worry about power drain issues corrupting the device.

It depends how much storage space you need/want. From 0 - 256GB SDXC is ideal. If you want 500GB - 1TB the most cost effective is mSATA.

I've never had any problems with my 500GB mSATA iPods. Works just like normal one.

thanks for the input, I e-mailed the eBay seller in china who sells modded iPods with 256 gb sad drives, and I told them many have sd cards in them, and they replied saying the sad drives have longer life and better read write times than sd cards.

I am not trying to argue, just researching.
