SSD? Need advice

Would this be a good set up?

2.4GHz Alu MB
128GB SSD
1TB external

Is it? I don't need a lot of native space, my movies could be stored on the external hard drive.

Is it worth it? Downsides to SSD? Is it that much better than a 7.2k drive?

It really depends on how much money you're willing to burn... You'll see noticeable improvements in boot times and cold starting apps. I doubt you'll see much more beyond that performance-wise. The other bonus would be no vibration, greater stability (no moving parts), less heat, and lower power consumption.

Only you can decide if it's "worth it". The way prices are right now, I would give a resounding "no". Personally, I would wait 6 months for prices to drop.
